The Microsoft Exchange Team, in an attempt to clear things up,
announced that it will in fact release some the Exchange Edge Services such as the SenderID framework and an updated Intelligent Message Filter (IMF) component as part of Exchange 2003 SP2 due to be release in the second part of 2005.
The rest of the components will be implemented in the next version of Exchange dure in Windows 2006. Microsoft's recent purchase of anti-virus and anti-spyware technologies might hint that these might find their way in some form to the next version of Exchange in some form.
