On August 19, Microsoft will release a preview release of Exchange 2003 SP2. It is not exactly a beta version, neither an alpha. It is Microsoft's way of pre-releasing without having to support the version directly. Some of the features of Exchange 2003 SP2 will only be available with Outlook 2003 SP2, to be released later this year. My guess that whenever Microsoft has a stable enough version of a product that they test internally, we'll get a CTP version and be supported through beta newsgroups. Then a beta will be released, or if the CTP is really successful, a full release.
