Exchange 12 Features Announced
Microsoft revealed some of the features and other changes planned for E12, the next Exchange version.
These are:

Edge Services – Gateway protection, incorporating current IMF technology

Outlook auto setup of profiles

Redesigned ESM UI

Scripting for all ESM components

Continuous Backup – Replicate changes to another database

Improved search functionality

Web Services API
-
OMA will be removed (probably because of the wide adoption of ActiveSync)

Policy compliance – verify client configuration

Enhanced mobile device
-
Access Sharepoint and other application through OWA
-
Unified messaging - voice mail and faxes in your mailbox
-
Improved Calendaring functionality
-
64-Bit version
-
Conformance to the WS System Common Engineering criteria – this means all Microsoft Server products will start to look the same and get the same kind of updates based on MSI 3.0

Increased store size limit for Exchange standard edition
