ExDRA collects configuration data and header information from databases and transaction log files. The tool analyzes all headers and creates a detailed list of instructions explaining what the problem is, and how to resolve it.
ExPTA collects configuration data, performance counters and live tracing information from an Exchange server. The tool analyzes each subsystem to determine individual bottlenecks, and then aggregates the information to provide root cause analysis.
These are first versions of these tools so they have limited functionality and possibly a few bugs as are expected in such utilities that dabble in artificial intelligence. However as the ExBPA (Microsoft Exchange Server Best Practices Analyzer Too) got better, expect frequent updates to these tool as well and possibly a unified analyzer center for E12 that will rid us of these clunky acronyms.
