First Windows Phone 7 Update Hit My Device

Am updating my Windows Phone 7 device as I’m writing this… I must say the process went very smoothly. The Windows Phone team have really managed to develop a great update experience. This also means that I now have my first backup or restore point if you will. As you can see in step 7 above, a full backup is taken before the update is initiated. The backup is stored at the following location: “C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Phone Update”: To restore the phone back to previous build, I can click Restore under Settings > Update in Zune:  Now please push out the long awaited update guys! NoteAs you probably read in the media yesterday, Microsoft began pushing out a new update for Windows Phone 7 devices. Now this is not the update with the planned new features/fixes but an update to improve the update process when the “real” update is pushed out (read more here).
