ActiveXperts Network Monitor monitors all aspects of your LAN and WAN servers, workstations and devices. When problems are detected, you're immediately notified by network message, e-mail, pager, or SMS message. When a failure is detected, the network monitor tool will try to correct the problem. The product runs as a service on the Windows NT/2000/XP/2003 platform. ActiveXperts Network Monitor supports Windows, UNIX, Linux and Novell platforms.

ActiveXperts Network Monitor is delivered with pre-defined function sets, including functions for: Active Directory, ADSI, DNS, Disk Drive, Disk Space, DNS, Event Log (with content checking), Exchange 2000, File Existence (with content checking), FTP site, HTTP(s) (with content checking), ICMP/Ping, MS SQL Database, Novell NDS, NTDS (NT4 compatible DS), ODBC Database, Oracle Databases (SQLNet), POP3 Mail server, Printer, Process, Service, SMTP Mail server, TCP port (with handshaking), UDP, UNIX Shell Script (RSH), Users & groups, VBScript (custom scripts) and WMI.

Omnitrend's ServScan is an application for monitoring the status of Exchange Servers, Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Windows NT computers… both servers and workstations. It is a service that remotely monitors Event Logs, alerting administrators to specific errors and events.

Alerting methods include Email, Pager, Text Messaging to Cellular Phone, and Network Messaging. Alerting “devices” may be grouped so that multiple individuals can be notified. There is also a feature to provide for notification of different individuals based on time of day.
